Pakistan Railways Announces Major Recruitment Drive
Pakistan Railways has announced a large-scale hiring initiative to overcome the shortage of train drivers across the country.
According to official sources, the department will recruit 417 Assistant Train Drivers in different railway divisions.
The highest number of vacancies has been allocated to the Karachi Division with 182 posts. Other allocations include Sukkur (66), Multan (51), Peshawar (33), Rawalpindi (30), Quetta (29), and Lahore (26).
To be eligible, candidates must have passed Matric and possess a three-year Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE). Applicants holding diplomas in Mechanical, Electrical, IT, or Automobile Technology can apply.
As per the government quota policy, 60% of seats will be filled on open merit. 20% are reserved for children of railway employees, while 10% are allocated for ex-servicemen. In addition, 5% of seats are reserved for minorities and 5% for orphan candidates.
Officials stated that this recruitment drive aims to strengthen railway operations and improve train services across Pakistan.
