PTCL Acquires Telenor Pakistan: A Major Step Toward Pakistan’s Digital Future
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has officially completed the acquisition of 100% shareholding of Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers, effective 31st December 2025. This landmark acquisition represents a significant transformation in Pakistan’s telecom industry and reinforces PTCL’s commitment to advancing the country’s digital ecosystem.
Telenor Pakistan Becomes a PTCL Subsidiary
With this acquisition, Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers now operate as wholly owned subsidiaries of PTCL, alongside Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML – Ufone 4G) and U Microfinance Bank. During the transition phase, Telenor Pakistan will continue to function as a separate legal entity.
Subject to regulatory approvals, PTCL plans to integrate PTML and Telenor Pakistan into a single merged entity (MergeCo). This integration is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve network performance, and deliver superior digital services nationwide.
