PTA Warning: Use SIMs in Your Own Name to Avoid Legal Action - Pak Today Info

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has advised mobile phone users nationwide to ensure that all SIM cards are registered in their own names. The authority warned that using SIMs registered under someone else’s CNIC is against the rules and may lead to strict action.

According to the PTA, the person whose name a SIM is registered under will be fully responsible for any misuse, including phone calls, text messages, or internet activity carried out through that number.

The telecom regulator has urged citizens to use mobile connections responsibly and strictly adhere to telecom laws and regulations.

PTA also emphasized that public cooperation is essential for maintaining the security, stability, and reliability of Pakistan’s telecom network. Citizens are encouraged to verify their SIM ownership and immediately transfer or block any unauthorized SIMs.

The authority warned that failure to comply with these directives could result in enforcement measures, including possible SIM blocking or legal action.
